Ranger/Warrior here, for guild vs guild and for pve. I sub in different skills when doing different things. In PvE, Expertise stances are a must, as you can nearly tank with them, where as in PvP I spam energy sword skills. I won't go into the details of my build, but don't be afraid to experiment with this class...it's very fun to play and works well in any situation.

Agreed on the stances, I hadn't been using them much the first event I did and my character wasn't all too great (of course, I sucked skill wise too). But this last event, I threw some stances in there, and I came out doing much more damage than I would have dreamed off last time.

Of course, it helped that I remembered to distribute my AP as well...

well i am primarily a ranger warrior... i only have had the game for 2 weeks but she is lvl 19 (played d2 lod for 3 years )

anyway i wound up using an inverted profession approach: ranger/warrior however using the warrior skills as primary and secondary ranger because the build itself relies on expertise which is not obtainable by a warrior primary:

the skill list as follows ( note i just reached the crystal desert i still ahve yet to get the ones i need for it)

1. antidote signet
2. sever artery
3. flurry
4. apply poison
5. lightning reflexes
6. sprint
7. storm chaser
8 troll unguent

sword 10
tactics 6
expertise 8
wilderness survival 8
marksmanship 6 ( just enough to keep the bow)

okay now this is the most accurate ninja build i have been able to make

as of right now i have no disurptions but this design is made to kill casters very fast and was mainly designed in the lower pvp arenas which i managed to gather up 1500 faction in 2 weeks just off yaks arena :P

you apply poison then flurry all targets with your bow then you charge your caster with a sprint in and lightning reflexes into raising your adrenaline fast to hit the artery.. bam you got poison 33 percent attack speed and bleed on your opponent. the reason i put 2 ias and 2 frw skills in this build is that you are constantly able to attack at 33 percent faster and constantly able ro run fast all you have to do is wait for your recharges to get halfway before you ignite the other one... which by the time that one runs out your other skill will be charged... so with this build , you are 1. constantly attacking faster 2. constantly running faster than your opponent ( which cripple effect is not needed ) 3. 2 different DOT's and the ability to regenerate fast with poison, dirt cancellation. she can also tank also i have killed many lvl 20 w/mo in the island arenas with this build becuase the rate at which they lose life is so fast once you swap from flurry to reflexes you dont gain that 25% decreas in attack.. but if you are looking for a bow then this is not your build.. the only thing i change with it is the troll to res if i have no monks in the group or i might take a hamstring or pin down if i know i am going up against multiple warriors. but this build has taken me very well throughout the entire game up to the crystal desert ( with the exception of undead they negate this entire build due to no flesh) however it is a very well balanced pve and pvp build which can be used for tanking or backing up your tanks and going for the primary casters. hope this helps and dont be jacking my ninja style lol :P

Possibly, a good build for a PVE R/W melee could be like this:

Axe Mastery
Expertise
Wilderness Survival

Cyclone Axe
Apply Poison
Throw Dirt
Whirling Defense
Flame Trap
Dust Trap
Spike Trap
Troll Unguent/Healing Spring

Or subbing in Serpent's Quickness for fast recharge may work better.
